Florida’s new super speeder law now has big consequences for those drivers with a heavy right foot.
Exceeding the speed limit by 50 MPH or more, or are driving at 100 MPH or more is now a criminal offense with those first timers spending up to 30 days in jail.
The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office recently shared video to Facebook showing one of their traffic enforcement deputies pulling over the driver of a C8 Corvette Stingray Convertible after he was clocked at 107 MPH on the highway, and the driver’s excuse was BS.
“I have an appointment with my barber.”
The driver, 57-year-old Michael Stanek of Welaka was arrested for dangerous excessive speeding.
He was transported to the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Center where he was book and then later released on a $150 bond.
