I purchased a thermostat that Vince-Hi-performance makes and sells. Cost with shipping $80. They said it lowers the opening state to 178 degrees.

I went through the install hassle and then road tested to find that on highway the maximum water temp was only 163 degrees

Too damn cold.

I contacted them and they blamed it on the fact I have a good radiator and send either send that one back ( which would take much longer for round trip shipping) and they would modify it to do what they claimed, or to speed process up to buy another and then ship the other one back when I got the new one.
So I spent another $80 and 12 days later got the new one, with zero paper work on returning the first one.

I again went through the install hassle, test drove to find this one doing 189 degrees, only 4 degrees less then the stock one

I began researching to find all you have to do is take your stock stat and add a shim to change the stat opening temp !

You could do that for less then a dollar ( of free if you got junk in garage to make one) and save $79 dollars !!

Now that was a real ripoff, plus they still have not sent me the paperwork to return the first one for refund.
