Now that the rebel has been baselined, to make it race ready the changes I will do myself in next week or so are:

1. Six speed trannie oil cooler. G.M sells a kit that includes the cooler, electric pump, sensor, mounting and wiring harness. G.M charges $1,000 but going to a dealer such as Mike's can get teammates a good discount.
The cooler uses the trannies fill and drain plugs for the cooler lines.

2. Engine oil cooler. I choose a neat design from Mallet. It is a heat exchanger type and fits where the top radiator hose is. Oil filter is moved up front. Cost is about $1,200.

3. To start installing a AS&M 5 point harness bar and belts, later to be replaced with a rollcage.

4. Cannot do this racing stuff without the right PCM management tool, thus purchased a tool like the Diacom that will read and report when the PCM sees and does.

5. On the other side, must be able to make PCM code changes, at this time determining which vendor/brand is best to use.

JR you might look into the Harness Bar made by Brey-Krause. I put one in my Z-06 and it was an excellent fit. I am able to use a 6 point harness with it. You can get the info at www.bkauto.com. Everything is stainless steel and all of the mounting hardware is included. I am able to use the 2 point submarine belt and seat belts either attached or removable using clips on the ends instead of bolting it to the floor. I leave the sub belts attached and detach the seat belts at every event--takes two minutes. This way I am not climing all over seatbelts when I load and unload the trailer.
