With just over 4,000 miles on the long tubed headers on my '99 C5 made by TPIS,
I found all airtubes that are welded into header tubes have cracked and sucking air.
This requires both headers to be yanked and re-welded. That's about 8 hours labor in total plus the welding costs and the hassle of finding someone that does this type of welding.

This is not what you expect for a high priced
part, esp when that vendor spouts quality.

I had my headers removed from my '84 Vette machine polished and nickel plated (El Monte Plating). What we found out was that although the exhausts were steel, the smog tree is actually stainless steel. The dissimilar metals plated differently, but the welds are super strong, stock and never corroded yet.

1 year later,

I could not understand why the left and right sides of engines O2 sensors and LTFTs were unbalanced.

I jacked the car up to find :



Now with less then 15,000 total miles on this car the TPIS headers welds for support brackets broke out and confusing the hell out of the O2s.

In 30 plus years of modding cars these are the worst headers I have ever seen.
It's clear they do not know how to design and careless about quality or customers being happy with the products they spend their hard earned money on.
