Wes,
I would suggest any laptop that has at least a 200 Mhz cpu would be fine.
You can use ay version of MS windows, thus if you want little RAM then use windows 95 or 98.
I's say no less then 24 megs of RAM, mostly for windows use.
It does need a serial com port, 9 pin connect.
If it has only USB, then you also need to buy a USB to 9 pin com cable ( can be bought at Ease).
You need a floppy and C/D drive to install the software, after that you do not need the C/D.
Since most laptop P/C battery do not last long and your using a com port that uses more current, I'd suggest a cheapo D/C to A/C converter you plug into cig lighter. I got mine at radio shack for about $40. If staying with laptop battery make sure it is fully charged.
Ease has version also that work on pocket P/C and PDA but do not have the same level of features as the laptop does.
I can get you a 10% discount off of any Ease product, thus the G.M enhanced powertrain scanner Ease charges is $350 but through me is $315.
You can contact me and I will be happy to help you analyze yor PCM traces and let you know what I would do in tuning to get a good performnace tune.
John

I have a severe rich condition on my '02 Z06 after installing a Vortex Rammer airbox and I need to see what's going on and correct the problem (MAFT, custom PCM reflash, LS1edit-->assuming its coming out shortly for the '01-02).
Thank you,
