I still have not seen any proof that GM uses the COT for the LSX engines and I was told they do not.

Even if PCM did somehow predict, increasing the COT to attempt to solve a WOT issue can be dangerous for that means cats would be allowed to run even hotter which can only cause damage to cats long term.
