Subject: GMP06-045 - Free Replacement Limited Warranty on Professional 6-Year and 7-Year Batteries
DESCRIPTION:
ACDelco wants your battery business and has now extended the free replacement limited warranty on Professional 6-Year and 7-Year batteries. A number of studies suggest that the free replacement period is the most important feature to consumers when purchasing a new battery. Now ACDelco Professional 6-Year and 7-Year batteries are simply the best in free replacement limited warranty.
INCENTIVE:
Professional 6-Year battery free replacement period limited warranty will increase from 18 months to 30 months*.
Professional 7-Year battery free replacement period limited warranty will increase from 24 months to 50 months*.
*With pro-rata adjustment for the remaining warranty period.
EFFECTIVE DATE:
April 1, 2006
QUALIFICATIONS:
The new free replacement limited warranty applies to consumers who purchase a Professional 6-Year or 7-Year battery on or after April 1, 2006. For consumers without their bill of sale, the battery warranty code date of December 1, 2005 or later can be used to apply for the new replacement warranty. The new free replacement period does not apply to Commercial Type Two Service Usage. This warranty does not cover:
Discharge batteries that can be recharged and returned to service.
Cost for recharging or use of rental batteries or vehicles.
Labor costs for battery removal and installation.
Damage due to charging system failure, negligence, abuse , accident, improper installation or freezing.
Loss of time, inconvenience, loss of vehicle use or other incidental or consequential damages.
Failures which occur outside the United States or Canada.
GENERAL INFORMATION:
The battery labels will not reflect the new warranty at the time of this announcement, so Silver Starburst stickers (MS6YR72) can be applied to the Professional 6-YR battery and Gold Starburst stickers (MS7YR84) can be applied to the Professional 7-YR battery to advertise the new free replacement period. The stickers can be ordered from Archer after April 1, 2006.
