Was readign about theh new LS3 and the new head interested me.
The large Intake alve 2.16 inches makes me wonder if these heads will work onmy new block. I have the Iron LS1 6 liter block which is a 4.0 bore same as the LS2. I understnad the L92 where designed for the larger bore and are a derivative of the LS7 head.
I have the old style Oval Intake ports on my magnuson Blower manifold and round ports on the TPIS headers.
Does anyone have a clue if these heads would fit.
I see they have the Caddy versoin at Sumitt for $439 Each with Valves and springs. Damn cheap to me, Put my CompCam springs on them and my Crane Roller rockers?????

Dickey and Scroggins have the L92 Heads at $399 Each!!!!!!!!!!
They also state Intake Rocker must be the offsetr style.
2.16 intake valve Damn! Sure would like to see what intake port issues there would be with my Magnuson SC, bet it could be port matched. Exhaust are D shape ala Z06.

I had a long chat with Kenny Duttweiler that has an Article in Dec Hot Rod covering a 6 liter Iron Block build up. This 2nd of 2 articles covered the MAgnuson SC so I had quite an interest.
He claims th enew heads are good for 40+ HP and he now has a GM CNC set he will test for next month. However the new heads also have a differnt intake port design requiring an intake swap as well. NA guys have a GM intake to buy bu tthe Maggie guys will need to upgrade thru Magnuson.

He also tested the 122 versus the 1900 Magnuson Blower which is worth readign about.

He used a Cam very similar the Crane he spec'ed for my engine.

Worth gettting the article and looking at these hot heads.

Review the thread in the Useless Vendor section where I discuss a 2007 A6 C6 with LS92 heads and intake manifold

Yes they could work well BUT those parts require well thought out selection of CAM grind else the car is not street friendly.
