This PI was updated to put a hold on Bowling Green repairs. Please discard PIP4132.
The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Condition/Concern:
The new engine replacement process on 2006 to 2007 ZO6 Corvettes has been put on hold.
The process would have been as described below.
General Motors has started a new engine replacement process on any 2006 to 2007 ZO6 Corvettes.
If a dealer has encountered a 2006 to 2007 ZO6 Corvette that needs an engine replacement, please contact the General Motors Technical Assistance Center (GMTAC), or the Powertrain Quality Center (PQC).
If the decision is made to replace the engine, a qualified shipper will be sent to the dealer to pick up the vehicle.
The vehicle will be shipped to the Bowling Green Assembly Plant and the new engine will be installed there. After repairs the vehicle will be shipped back to the dealer.
Recommendation/Instructions:
Due to the workload at the Bowling Green Assembly plant no more vehicles will be scheduled for engine replacements.
Please continue to use SI diagnostics, and complete any LS7 repairs or replacements at the servicing dealer.
This PI will be updated when more engine replacements can be scheduled.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
