Subject: 2008 Corvette Code P0101 and P0102

Some 2008 Corvettes may experience a SES (Service Engine Soon) lamp with a stored code of P0101, P0102 or P0103.

For 2008 the LS3 and the LS7 engines use hydro carbon absorber patches in the air cleaner housing, also referred to as the induction snorkel, to reduce emission. If one of these patches becomes loose or detached they could restrict airflow. If air flow is restricted it could result in a SES lamp with codes P0101, P0102 and P0103.

Should a 2008 Corvette have the above complaint the dealership should check for any restriction in the air induction system.

The air cleaner housing should be removed and checked to ensure the hydro carbon patches are securely attached.

If a hydro carbon patch is loose or missing the air cleaner housing must be replaced. The patches are not available separately.
