We find most people who are adding mods do not learn to properly use a OBD scanner or to make the most use of all the captured data from the PCM and all the feedback sensors the powertrain has.

All the images shown in this tread all came from ONE scanner recording and then analyzing the data to know then what the engine, mods and PCM calibration are exactly doing and what changes in PCM tuning can do and what the outcome is.

In this testcase the objective is :

1. How the 10 year old Donaldson Blackwing aircleaner with our CAI "Icebox" is doing.

2. Our custom tuning to take our test 1999 C5 with 372 stroked LS1 enging with 11.3:1 compression and using E10 (10% Ethanol gas) 91 octane and our 3D smart water/methanol injection kit can perform in 73 degree weather

3. Being elevation is between 3500 to 4000 feet, how much timing can be used during WOT and have zero engine knock by making use of the water/meth.

As we see with the scanner analyzed data the average intake air temp matched the 73 deg weather which says the Blackwing and Iceboz are doing what they were designed for

The long term fuel trims were only about 2% lean

Zero engine knock and misfire.

Stock MAF allowed 41 lbs airflow

WOT timing was 30 degrees. This shows the myth these LSx engine have to run 22 deg WOT timing.

Due to elevation and weather engine lost 59 horsepower that would be seen at sealevel.

This test setup to tune to rid all knock with all the above conditions was first done back early last fall and shows over long elapsed timeframe that if custom tuning is done correctly that the tune calibration does not change by the PCM adapting.

Our design of the water/methanol smart controller prevents loss of performance due to summer heat, lousy gas, and elevation that allows even when engine compression is high and using E10 gas to keep constant performance and keep engine save even when using higher WOT timing
