After nine months of using and testing a tune configuration it was time to do a last test to determine if there was any long term issues hiding when bias the tuning to conserve gas.

For this test.

1. Weather 70 degrees.
2. via tuning preventing high engine loads by setting rev limiter to 5,100 RPMs versus our normal setting of 6,700 RPMs
3. Set PE table values so to enter PE you have to be much deeper into the throttle.
4. reduced WOT timing from 29 degrees to 21 maximum.
5. Forced at idle to run fuel trims of about 8% lean
6. and when in crusing about 5% lean.
7. Set water/meth RPM trigger at 3,000 RPMs to assure it was not active UNLESS in PE mode
8. keep in mind rearend gear is a 3.72
fuel injectors are 40 lbs/hr
engine compression is 11.3:1
Gas is 91 octane

A. This testrun collected over 52,000 PCM recorded cycles over 44 elapsed minutes and 35 miles.

B. Injectors are 40 lbs/hr and in test max duty cycle was only 41% with a peak of only 11 mSec injector pulse width.

C. City MPG = 18
D. Highway was from 30 when using foor on gas pedal to 31 MPG when using cruise control at speeds between 60 to 70 MPH with peaks at 93 MPH and hitting the forced rev limiter of 5,100 RPMs.

E. Engine produced 125 less then when tuned for performance.

F. Both city and highway MPG results both much better then what GM tested mileage yet tests show zero engine ping or misfire.

G. Keep in mind these tests are from 3,200 to 4,200 feet elevation so mileage would be even better if at sealevel and flat roads.
