Subject: Inability To Program Tire Pressure Sensors
Models: 2005-2009 Chevrolet Corvette
Condition/Concern:
Tire Pressure Monitor System sensors may be difficult to program after tire or sensor replacement.
Recommendation/Instructions:
Verify the following....
Verify that all 4 tires are one of the following..
• Base Coupe and Base Convertible use - Goodyear Eagle F1, extended mobility
• RPO's - Z51 and Z06 vehicles use - Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar, extended mobility
• RPO - ZR1 vehicles use - Michelin PS2, extended mobility
Verify that all the wheels on the vehicle are original OEM, not aftermarket or replica version of the OEM models.
Use a known good vehicle for test purposes.
See if the known good vehicle's tires will program to the troubled vehicle. Then see if troubled vehicles tires can program to a known good vehicle.
Note:
Prior to performing any repairs, document on the repair order the exact tire readings as shown on the DIC. Example(s) if the complaint is XX on LF and all other wheels are 30psi, write that down.
If the reading is "0" document which tire or tires are reading "0". This provides information when the repair order is read later.
