Subject: CORVETTE NEWS

Date: March 9, 2007

As a point of interest, effective February 1, 2007 on all Corvettes after VIN 75125378 the door sill trim on both the passenger and driver's side has been revised. The new sill plate has an aluminum appearance with black inserts, while the old style is all black.
Since this is a mid year design change, trim on previously built vehicles should not be replaced unless actually defective. If a customer requests that their older style door sill trim be upgraded, they should be advised that the parts are available for purchase through your dealership's Parts Department.

In the event you are asked, after obtaining customer feedback that this item was not being used, we chose to delete the Interior Rear Hatch Handle. This change was introduced at 2007 SOP. However, some early vehicles were produced with that handle.

Monterey Red Tintcoat (80U) is being discontinued as an available color selection for the 2007 Corvette. As a result, it will be necessary to constrain the number of 80U orders accepted for production. The final date for 80U order entry and selection will be APRIL 07, 2007. A replacement color will be introduced at the beginning of the 2008 model year.

AS A REMINDER, PLEASE REMEMBER: CHEVROLET WILL NOT PROCESS DEALER ORDERS FOR A 2008 CORVETTE UNTIL THAT DEALERSHIP HAS COMPLETED THE CORVETTE TRAINING CERTIFICATION PROCESS. THE DEADLINE TO COMPLETE ALL REQUIRED TRAINING IS JUNE 30, 2007.

TRAINING
For those who'd like to see where they stand with completing the requirements, many resources are available through the GM Training website. For example, dealers can track their Corvette Certification progress using the Dealer Training Path. The Dealer Training
Path can be found by clicking on Training Path >> View Dealer Training Path.
The Corvette Certification status is listed under the Additional Certification section of the Dealer Training Path. You are also reminded by a monthly E-mail Dealer Report Card showing training progress. Corvette stores are tracked as a "Y" or "N" flag under Dealer Summary.

NOTE: A complete listing of the required sales (one course) and service training (several courses), sublet guidelines, process, and the Sublet Authorization Form can all be found in the new Corvette certification resource area on the GM Training Website
Each Chevrolet dealership must have at least one person who has credit in
each of the mechanical courses on the list. This could be one person with credit for all courses, OR several persons as long as they remain employed at the dealership.

While all of the mechanical training is available at the dealership, there are two body structural courses that are required to ensure that the dealership has the capability to complete aluminum repairs. If the dealership does not have a body shop or does not wish to employee a certified aluminum welder, the dealership must be linked to a sublet facility that can provide the aluminum repair expertise.

GM BODY TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:
GEN01 (2006 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 Collision Repair Overview) and WCA03 (Automotive Aluminum GMA (MIG) Welding Qualification Test) are required training for Corvette dealers or their sublet(s) to properly service the unique Z06 body structure.
THESE TWO COURSES MUST BE COMPLETED BY THE SAME TECHNICIAN

NOTE – DEALERSHIPS CURRENTLY ENROLLED AS A CORVETTE DEALERSHIP DO NOT NEED TO RETURN THE ENROLLMENT FORM.

SFE – Corvette Certification does not override or impact established SFE guidelines.
It's critical that all Chevrolet dealers meet the training requirements in order to properly service all Corvette models. Please work diligently toward meeting these requirements to ensure the continued service success of Corvette.

REMEMBER, ALL TRAINING MUST BE COMPLETED BY 30 JUNE 07.
