The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Condition/Concern:
Some customers may state that there is a low resonance vibration feeling in the steering wheel when turning the wheels slightly in either the right or left direction when in the stationary position at idle. The condition seems to appear on vehicles equipped with a automatic transmission.
Recommendation/Instructions:
GM recognizes that some vehicles are unacceptable to some owners. To this point GM is contracting with a supplier to develop and manufacture a replacement service hose that will eliminate 90% of the shudder. The replacement service hose should be available in October of 2006.
Do not perform any repairs until this hose becomes available. This PI will be updated when the new service hose becomes available.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
