CORVETTE RACING AT ROAD AMERICA: Race to 200 Starts Now

Historic venue again welcomes GT Le Mans championship contenders

Corvette Racing captured win No. 100 two weeks ago
Gavin, Milner with three class wins in 2016
Garcia, Magnussen now up to third in GTLM Driver’s Championship
Chevrolet out front in GT Le Mans Manufacturer points

DETROIT (Aug. 3, 2016) – Less than two weeks after adding another chapter to its already impressive record book, Corvette Racing rolls into familiar territory in pursuit of strengthening its GT Le Mans (GTLM) championship lead and resume as sports car racing’s premier GT team.

Road America is the site of this weekend’s Continental Tire Road Race Showcase – the eighth round of this year’s WeatherTech SportsCar Championship for GTLM teams. It’s a venue Corvette Racing knows well with thousands of miles in testing, development and competition over the years.

On the competition side, Corvette Racing has won at Road America six times since 2002. This weekend’s race will mark the second time in three months that the team and its four drivers have visited the picturesque 4.048-mile, 14-turn circuit an hour north of Milwaukee. Jan Magnussen and Antonio Garcia in the No. 3 Mobil 1/SiriusXM Chevrolet Corvette C7.R, and teammates Oliver Gavin and Tommy Milner in the No. 4 Mobil 1/SiriusXM Chevrolet Corvette C7.R, tested at Road America in May ahead of the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Gavin and Milner are the GTLM Driver’s Championship leaders after seven races with three victories. Their most recent (two weeks ago at Lime Rock Park) was the 100th for the Corvette Racing program and made it the first team in IMSA (International Motor Sports Association) history to accomplish the feat.

Like their teammates, Garcia and Magnussen have reeled off two consecutive podium finishes to move up to third in Driver’s points. Corvette Racing’s efforts also have put Chevrolet out front in the GTLM Manufacturer’s Championship.

For the better part of 60 years Chevrolet has used Road America to showcase the Corvette as both a production showcase vehicle and top-line racecar. That dates back to the 1960s when Chevrolet leadership would traditionally test at and use the circuit to unveil high-performance production models including the original Stingray racer as well as the 1961 Mako Shark concept.

The Corvette Grand Sport, a legendary name within the Corvette community, found numerous successes at Road America; coincidentally the newest production Grand Sport – the 2017 model that blends the best of the Corvette Stingray and Corvette Z06 – will be

The Corvette brand also has been well represented at Road America with the famed Corvette Bridge, which first appeared in 1963 and then returned in 2011. It served to reaffirm the relationship between Road America and the Cross Flags.

The Corvette Racing program made its first racing appearance in 2002 as the American Le Mans Series made its Road America debut. Not surprisingly, a Corvette visited Victory Lane… and has five times since.

The 2016-spec Corvette C7.R is an updated racecar due to changes in Automobile Club de l’Ouest regulations for top-level GT cars that compete in the IMSA GTLM class.
There are a number of aerodynamic changes including a larger splitter at the front and diffuser at the rear of the Corvette. Side skirts and a repositioned wing also are among the most notable changes, along with updated safety features that are now mandated on all GTLM cars.

Corvette Racing Display on Location at Road America

This weekend’s IMSA action will see plenty of Chevrolet and Chevy-powered vehicles on and off the track. A Chevrolet Corvette Z06 will pace the two headline events during the Continental Road Race Showcase weekend – the WeatherTech Sports Car Championship and Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge.

In addition, the Corvette Racing Display will be open for fans starting Friday morning. Guests can learn all they need to know about Chevrolet and see a number of Chevy attractions:

Award-winning Chevrolet 2016 production vehicles such as the Camaro – the 2016 Motor Trend Car of the Year
A glimpse at two of Chevrolet’s newest offerings: the 2017 Corvette Grand Sport and 2017 Cruze Hatchback
Additional Chevrolet vehicles including Silverado HD, Malibu and Equinox
A Corvette C7.R show car
Samples of Chevrolet engines, performance parts and accessories available to fans for purchase from their local Chevrolet dealer
A variety of Chevrolet and racing related activities for adults and kids
Commemorative t-shirts for fans who sign up with Corvette Racing

The Corvette Racing display opens at 9 a.m., Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

The two-hour, 40-minute Continental Tire Road Race Showcase from Road America is scheduled for 3:05 p.m. ET on Sunday, Aug. 7
It will air live on FOX Sports 1 starting at 4:05 p.m. ET with IMSA Radio coverage and Chevrolet on-board cameras available on IMSA.com.

ANTONIO GARCIA, NO. 3 MOBIL 1/SIRIUS-XM CHEVROLET CORVETTE C7.R:

"The whole layout at Road America is very unique. You have every single corner you could imagine. It’s very demanding. Setup-wise you have to find a compromise between downforce and straight-line speed.
It’s a classic race track – a little like Le Mans. If the car is good, then the track is fantastic. If it’s not, then you still enjoy it but not quite as much.

(On aero setup) "It’s almost a wash. You’re not as fast with full downforce as you are if you trim it out. There is definitely a lot of compromise. It depends on how the tire works and how the wear is. If it’s good, you might can gamble a little bit more on aero."

JAN MAGNUSSEN, NO. 3 MOBIL 1/SIRIUS-XM CHEVROLET CORVETTE C7.R:

"Elkhart Lake is another great track on our schedule and maybe the best one we go to. It has everything you could want in a track – high speeds, tough corners and elevation changes.
The area is great, the history of Road America is great. We have had a lot of successes there and a lot of time around the track. We’ve raced there and tested there for Le Mans so we have a lot of data at our disposal.
There are different ways you can approach the setup at Road America because of the high speed and track layout. With more downforce and aero than we’ve had in the past, we’ll have a lot to discuss with the engineers to give us the best chance of going fast and having success."

OLIVER GAVIN, NO. 4 MOBIL 1/SIRIUS-XM CHEVROLET CORVETTE C7.R:

I and the other drivers really enjoy going there. It’s always a good, fun track and one of the best in the country. It seems to be one where you can really open the car up and let it run.
There are some good, challenging high-speed corners. Turn One is fast and an aggressive corner with a big brake zone. You can really attack the racetrack. And it’s a fun circuit to drive. Over the years it has seemed to suit the Corvettes and we’ve had a large amount of success there and good results. We test there nearly every year for Le Mans, including earlier this year.
We all enjoy going there. The racing is good and very hard-fought. It’s just a good trip all-around for us."

TOMMY MILNER, NO. 4 MOBIL 1/SIRIUS-XM CHEVROLET CORVETTE C7.R:

"As drivers we have a pretty good grasp of Road America.
It’s one of the best tracks we go to, and it lends itself well to sports car racing. The length of the track helps but the long straights followed by some big braking zones and slow corners that allow the strengths and weaknesses of every class to separate themselves.
That makes it super enjoyable and you end up having some great races there."

DOUG FEHAN, CORVETTE RACING PROGRAM MANAGER:

"If we look at all the racetracks on which we compete and the history that Corvette Racing has enjoyed at each of them, you could make the claim that none are more important that Road America. Elkhart Lake was the site of the very first Corvette Corral.
You have the iconic Corvette Bridge, the Kettle Moraine, the food the people… all those things and more combine to make it our favorite venue in North America. Everyone on the team looks forward to coming here.
The drivers love driving here. The fans are some of the most knowledgeable and dedicate that we have."

Corvette Racing will go for victory No. 101 on Sunday from the third and fourth rows of the GT Le Mans (GTLM) grid in the Continental Tire Road Race Showcase at Road America. Meanwhile, Chevrolet sees a pair of its Corvette Daytona Prototypes on the front two rows of the Prototype field for this weekend’s round of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.

Antonio Garcia qualified sixth in GTLM in the No. 3 Mobil 1/SiriusXM Chevrolet Corvette C7.R with a lap of 2:03.432 (118.0 mph).
He and Jan Magnussen will lead the Corvette Racing effort for the team’s eighth GTLM race of the season. Right behind in qualifying was GTLM Driver’s Championship leader Oliver Gavin in the No. 4 Mobil 1/SiriusXM Chevrolet Corvette C7.R at 2:03.521 (117.9 mph).

He and Tommy Milner arrived at Road America with a 10-point advantage in Driver’s points – the same advantage Chevrolet has in the GTLM Manufacturer’s Championship.
The pairing has won three times this season including the most recent event at Lime Rock Park for Corvette Racing’s 100th victory.

Garcia and Magnussen enter Road America with two consecutive podium finishes – third at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park and second at Lime Rock – to move up to third place in the championship.
Garcia had a slight spin in the final corner on what may have been his best lap, but he still found himself just a half-second from the front row in an indication on how close the competition is in the class.

Garcia also was quickest in Saturday morning’s practice session.
He, Magnussen and the No. 3 Corvette team missed much of Friday’s first practice with an electrical issue.

In Prototype qualifying, Christian Fittipaldi was second in Action Express Racing’s No. 5 Mustang Sampling Corvette DP with a lap of 1:55.659 (125.9 mph).
He and teammate Joao Barbosa lead the Prototype Driver’s Championship – as does Chevrolet in the Engine Manufacturer standings.
The pairing won at Road America two years ago and were runners-up last season.

Ricky Taylor was third-fastest in qualifying Saturday with a 1:55.685 (125.9 mph) in Wayne Taylor Racing’s No. 10 Konica Minolta Corvette DP to put him just 0.026 seconds behind Fittipaldi’s time.

Eric Curran, who won last year with Dane Cameron at Road America, was fifth Saturday in Action Express Racing’s No. 31 Whelen Engineering/Team Fox Corvette DP at 1:56.120 (125.4 mph).
The Curran/Cameron pairing is second in Prototype points. Marc Goossens qualified sixth for Visit Florida Racing with a lap of 1:56.992 (124.5 mph) in the No. 90 VisitFlorida.com Corvette DP.

The two-hour, 40-minute Continental Tire Road Race Showcase from Road America is scheduled for 3:05 p.m. ET on Sunday. It will air live on FOX Sports 1 starting at 4:05 p.m. ET with IMSA Radio coverage and Chevrolet on-board cameras available on IMSA.com.

CORVETTE RACING QUOTES

ANTONIO GARCIA, NO. 3 MOBIL 1/SIRIUS-XM CHEVROLET CORVETTE C7.R – QUALIFIED SIXTH IN GTLM:

"The car probably wasn’t perfect. After we missed the first practice, we have been playing catch up. It was difficult to really judge and set up the Corvette perfectly; we were guessing how the car would be.
Maybe we misjudged a few things we had in the last practice that we took away for qualifying. It’s a shame we learned that in qualifying. I was on a good lap when I spun on the last corner, but maybe that could have moved me up one position.
But losing the track time Friday was tough."

(Race strategy): "The strategy has been very good for us.
It’s important when you are leading and when you chasing.
Maybe not being in the top-five lets you gamble and try something to put pressure on the other teams.
We will try everything we can. The opportunity is there and that can definitely play in our favor."

OLIVER GAVIN, NO. 4 MOBIL 1/SIRIUS-XM CHEVROLET CORVETTE C7.R – QUALIFIED SEVENTH IN GTLM:

"We need to go back and look and what we did before the qualifying session.
It didn’t look like we were that far off this morning. It was cooler, the track was cleaner, there hadn’t been support series races. It’s the usual deal; the car is good in the morning, then the track gets hotter, the support series races happen and then the car is generally worse.
We had a Corvette that was very loose. Right at apex when you try to get back on throttle, it was just dancing around a little too much.
Maybe I could have gotten a better time early when I thought the tires would come in?
Maybe we could have challenged some of the cars in front.
Realistically, I think most everyone had more pace than us in qualifying. We’ll go back and work a bit harder."

(Starting and finishing positions in previous races):
"We’ve usually worked our way forward and been able to capitalize on other people’s mistakes. We work really well as a team with pit stops, strategy and tire choice.
The driving has been strong. We’ll have to wait and see if that’s achievable tomorrow. But the last few races have been good for us."

CORVETTE DAYTONA PROTOTYPE QUOTES

CHRISTIAN FITTIPALDI, ACTION EXPRESS RACING NO. 5 MUSTANG SAMPLING CORVETTE DP – QUALIFIED SECOND IN PROTOTYPE:

"I’m obviously happy with where we’re starting. I’m not overly excited about the lap time because at the red flag, I felt there was a better lap coming. But the team did an excellent job.
They gave me a very competitive car. Let’s hope for a good race tomorrow. Tomorrow is a million times more important than today, and let’s try to get the best we can get. Firstly, we will concentrate on winning the race.
If that happens, we will take it.
If not, we will try to score as many points as possible because it’s critical for our position in the championship."

RICKY TAYLOR, WAYNE TAYLOR RACING NO. 10 KONICA MINOLTA CORVETTE DP – QUALIFIED THIRD IN PROTOTYPE:

"It was a bit of a funny qualifying with the red flag in the middle of the session.
I don’t think we had a real shot at the pole, but I think we have some changes we can make for the race that will give us a good Corvette DP.
Over the long run, this track is hard on tires but I think we have some stuff we can do to help us go the distance."

Corvette Racing and Action Express Racing gave Chevrolet and the Corvette marque two victories today at Road America in the Continental Tire Road Race Showcase. Oliver Gavin and Tommy Milner won the GT Le Mans (GTLM) class in the No. 4 Mobil 1/SiriusXM Chevrolet Corvette C7.R in a thrilling finish by going from fifth to first in the final seven minutes.

Action Express Racing’s Dane Cameron and Eric Curran won at Road America in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship’s Prototype class for the second year in a row and posted their second straight victory of the season in their No. 31 Whelen Engineering/Team Fox Corvette Daytona Prototype.

GTLM WINNER QUOTES

OLIVER GAVIN, CORVETTE RACING NO. 4 MOBIL 1/SiriusXM CHEVROLET CORVETTE C7.R – GTLM RACE WINNER:

"An extraordinary finish!
It was an amazing, amazing job by Tommy, the crew…the strategy at the end there!
It just seemed like the car came alive.
We made a change on that last stop, and it just brought the car to life.
That was what we were missing in the first part of the race.
I don’t think Tommy can believe it.
We were looking at fifth, then that caution came and it mixed everything up. T
here was contact and crazy stuff happening. It is just wonderful.
This is such an amazing result for us and it is big, big, big for the championship. I’m so thrilled!"

TOMMY MILNER, CORVETTE RACING NO. 4 MOBIL 1/SiriusXM CHEVROLET CORVETTE C7.R – GTLM RACE WINNER:

"I’m speechless!
I know everybody says that, but literally…
We did not have a very good car at the start; it was super loose.
But Chuck (Houghton, No. 4 Corvette engineer) made a great change there at the very end; new tires, a bit more wing in the Corvette and it was the best race car I have ever had.
I know I said that at Sebring, but this one somehow topped it.
This is the best race car I’ve ever had in my life right there.
At the end there, it seemed like the other guys couldn’t get their tires up to temp, and mine were ready to go and were there.
With two laps to go, there is nothing more that you could ask for than everyone in front of you and a Corvette underneath you!"

PROTOTYPE WINNER QUOTES

ERIC CURRAN, ACTION EXPRESS RACING NO. 31 WHELEN ENGINEERING/TEAM FOX CORVETTE DP – PROTOTYPE WINNER:

"This is good stuff.
It is awesome to win two races in a row in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.
I’m really happy. We have three podiums in a row, and three races in a row for Action Express and one-two finishes. It’s pretty awesome stuff. It helps Dane (Cameron) and I in the championship.
It is going to jump us up to our teammates in the No. 5 car. Dane did an awesome job all day today. The Whelan Engineering Corvette was spot-on. It wasn’t a perfect race by any means.
We had a few little issues. But at the end of the day, it all worked out for us. I don’t know where we stand in the points, but it has to be close now. It’s been a good year for us, we are trying to win a championship here.
It’s fun to have another win."

DANE CAMERON, ACTION EXPRESS RACING NO. 31 WHELEN ENGINEERING/TEAM FOX CORVETTE DP – PROTOTYPE WINNER:

"It was certainly a really tough one here all day.
Tire wear is pretty high here. Fuel consumption is high.
The competition level in Prototype in certainly really top-notch right now.
It is really tough to win races in this category so I’m really proud to be in this Action Express Whelen Corvette Daytona Prototype and to get two in a row. Three one-two finishes in a row for Action Express is something really special. I’m proud to be a part of it.
There are two more big races to push forward for the championship, so we will see what happens."

Restarting fifth with only five minutes remaining, Corvette Racing pulled off a miracle Sunday at Road America. Tommy Milner navigated a series of incidents in the closing laps and made a last-lap pass on the No. 67 Chip Ganassi Racing Ford GT of Richard Westbrook to win the Continental Tire Road Race Showcase alongside co-driver Oliver Gavin.

It was the fourth IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship win and sixth podium of the season for the GT Le Mans (GTLM) points-leading No. 4 Corvette Racing Corvette C7.R.

“It was extraordinary, it was an epic win for us,” said Gavin, who watched Milner carve through the field. “Everyone was in disbelief. I think there were plenty of people at the truck thinking, how’d we win that?”

Lined up directly behind the Prototype leaders on the final restart, Westbrook tried to hold off the No. 62 Ferrari 488 GTE of Toni Vilander for the lead when the No. 911 Porsche North America Porsche 911 RSR of Nick Tandy got a run on the leading Ford and Ferrari from third. Tandy moved to the inside of the top two for the lead when contact forced his Porsche into a spin in Turn 5.

That moved Milner into the third position after he also got around the No. 912 Porsche North America Porsche 911 RSR of Frederic Makowiecki. Milner found himself in second with two laps remaining when Vilander’s Ferrari spun after making contact with the No. 55 Mazda Prototype of Tristan Nunez.

Despite a one-second lead, Westbrook’s wounded Ford was no match for Milner who made the winning pass on the final lap and went onto win by 0.730 seconds.

““It was a wild swing of emotions,” said Milner of the final three laps. “My mindset at the end of the race was to hopefully catch the Porsche in front of me and try to make something there. During the yellow they said on the radio there was a chance we could restart but we might finish under yellow. I went from bummed to not being able to race for fourth to seeing all of the guys ahead of us.

“Then seeing the Ford in the lead, knowing how close we are in points, I sort of hoped we’d be there. Everything happened in front of me. The Porsche spun, then the Ferrari got taken out, I got some help for sure. I was able to get by the 912 and then get close to the Ford. It looked like they were a little hurt, but I don’t know how we went from fifth with three laps to go.”

Westbrook and co-driver Ryan Briscoe finished second and now sit 13 points, 264-251, behind Milner and Gavin with just three races remaining.

The No. 100 BMW Team RLL BMW M6 GTLM of John Edwards and Lucas Luhr rounded out the GTLM podium. The series of late-race incidents relegated the Ferrari of Vilander and co-driver Giancarlo Fisichella to fifth, and the Porsche of Tandy and co-driver Patrick Pilet to seventh.

CORVETTE RACING AT ROAD AMERICA: Gavin, Milner Score Dramatic GTLM Victory

Corvette DPs finish 1-2-3 as Cameron, Curran win again for Action Express Racing

101st all-time victory for Corvette Racing
No. 4 Corvette C7.R goes from fifth to first in final seven minutes
Action Express Racing posts third consecutive 1-2 finish
Chevrolet adds to lead in GT Le Mans Manufacturer, Prototype Engine Manufacturer points

EKLHART LAKE, Wis. (Aug. 7, 2016) – Corvette Racing and Action Express Racing gave Chevrolet and the Corvette marque two victories today at Road America in the Continental Tire Road Race Showcase. Oliver Gavin and Tommy Milner won the GT Le Mans (GTLM) class in the No. 4 Mobil 1/SiriusXM Chevrolet Corvette C7.R in a thrilling finish by going from fifth to first in the final seven minutes. It was their fourth victory of the season.

It is the first time this season that a Corvette C7.R and Corvette DP recorded victories in the same race. Corvette Daytona Prototypes swept the Prototype podium for the third time in 2016. Chevrolet also solidified its leads in the Prototype Engine and GTLM Manufacturer championships.

"The Corvette DP 1-2-3 finish is the result of great execution by the teams, crews and drivers," said Jim Campbell, Chevrolet U.S. Vice President, Performance Vehicles and Motorsports.
"Congratulations to Dane, Eric and the Action Express Racing No. 31 Whelen Engineering team on the overall win.

"What a wild finish in GTLM!" Campbell added.
"Tommy and Oliver drove a great race, the crew made the right adjustment during the last pit stop, and the engineers called a terrific race. Importantly, when the opportunity arose late in the race, Tommy took advantage of it. This 101st win was exciting and special.

"The Corvette Racing and Corvette DP teams never give up, and today is another example."

The GTLM finish was one the team and fans will remember for a long time.
It gave Corvette Racing its 101st victory two weeks after winning No. 100 at Lime Rock Park.
More importantly, it extended the lead of Gavin and Milner in the GTLM Driver’s Championship and Chevrolet’s advantage in the class Manufacturer standings.

Gavin drove the first 55 minutes before handing off to Milner.
Both Gavin and Milner struggled with the handling on the Corvette until the final stop with 51 minutes remaining. Engineer Chuck Houghton and the No. 4 crew made one final adjustment to the Corvette, which proved to be the winning call. Milner advanced from sixth to fifth with 20 minutes remaining before a late-race restart with three laps remaining set the stage for the drama.

Milner took fourth on the restart and watched as three competing GTLM cars suffered misfortune and contact. He made it through and then took the lead on the final lap.

It was Corvette Racing’s seventh class win at Road America and first since 2008. Gavin won for the fourth time at the track, and Milner for the first time = but it was one to remember.

Antonio Garcia and Jan Magnussen placed sixth in the No. 3 Mobil 1/SiriusXM Chevrolet Corvette C7.R. At the start, Garcia had a strong run to third place, and he and Magnussen ran with the No. 4 Corvette for the middle-part of the race.

The team opted to make its final stop 10 minutes later than the sister car in hopes of being part of a late-race push for a victory. The result was enough to unofficially keep Garcia and Magnussen third in the GTLM Driver’s Championship.

In the Prototype race, Cameron held off a hard-charging Joao Barbosa in Action Express Racing’s No. 5 Mustang Sampling Corvette DP to win by 0.626 seconds.

The victory unofficially drew the Curran/Cameron pairing to within 1 point of Barbosa and Christian Fittipaldi in the Prototype Driver’s Championship. Action Express Racing finished 1-2 for the third consecutive race.

Jordan Taylor and Ricky Taylor competed the top-three sweep for Chevy power in Wayne Taylor Racing’s No. 10 Konica Minolta Corvette DP. Marc Goossens and Ryan Dalziel placed sixth for Visit Florida Racing in the No. 90 VisitFlorida.com Corvette DP.

The next event for Corvette Racing is the Michelin GT Challenge from Virginia International Raceway on Sunday, Aug. 28. Corvette DPs return to action alongside Corvette Racing for the Lone Star Le Mans on Saturday, Sept. 17 from Circuit of The Americas in Austin, Texas.

CORVETTE RACING QUOTES

OLIVER GAVIN, CORVETTE RACING NO. 4 MOBIL 1/SiriusXM CHEVROLET CORVETTE C7.R – GTLM RACE WINNER:

"An extraordinary finish!
It was an amazing, amazing job by Tommy, the crew…the strategy at the end there! It just seemed like the car came alive. We made a change on that last stop, and it just brought the car to life. That was what we were missing in the first part of the race.
I don’t think Tommy can believe it. We were looking at fifth, then that caution came and it mixed everything up.
There was contact and crazy stuff happening.

JAN MAGNUSSEN, NO. 3 MOBIL 1/SiriusXM CHEVROLET CORVETTE C7.R – FINISHED SIXTH IN GTLM:

"The strategy sometimes works and sometimes it doesn’t.
Today was one of the days that it didn’t. The car never really felt right today.
We kept thinking it would come to us with the setup and tires. That has been the story of our season. Congratulations to Oliver and Tommy.
We will keep working and hope to get on the right side of it at VIR."

ANTONIO GARCIA, NO. 3 MOBIL 1/SiriusXM CHEVROLET CORVETTE C7.R – FINISHED SIXTH IN GTLM:

"It was a good start.
I had a chance to be a tiny bit aggressive into the first turn, but I backed off because I thought it was a little too early to try something that bold. After that things were good. I was able to stay with the lead pack.
I thought we might have something for the Porsches especially with our tires. I didn’t think we had the pace to win and just needed to stay close."

JOAO BARBOSA, ACTION EXPRESS RACING NO. 5 MUSTANG SAMPLING CORVETTE DP – PROTOTYPE RUNNER-UP:

"The last two years here have been very good to Action Express Racing
. We push each other very hard. Each week we get stronger and stronger as a team. The team comes to the track expecting to win. For sure the last three races have worked out very well. It’s great to have our teammates with it.
Any car can still win with two races to go. Today I think we were stronger on the longer runs but not really on the restarts for some reason. At the end, our pace was very similar and track position is key.
There wasn’t much we could do at the end. Second place for us is an excellent result. We still have two races to go and need to keep working hard."

CHRISTIAN FITTIPALDI, ACTION EXPRESS RACING NO. 5 MUSTANG SAMPLING CORVETTE DP – PROTOTYPE RUNNER-UP:

"We basically need to race hard but at the same time take care of each other and do our best. It’s still wide-open with us and the 31 car. The 10 car still has a very strong shot at it.
But anything can happen.
There is still a lot of racing ahead of us. We have to stay on the right foot and see what happens in the last couple of races."
