DETROIT (March 12, 2018) – It may not have been the first track on which Corvette Racing competed, but there is no doubting the impact the team has made on Sebring International Raceway – and the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring presented by Advance Auto Parts – during the past 19 years.

It’s fitting that as Corvette Racing continues with its 20th season of competition that we look at a venue that has been synonymous with the team’s success since the last 1990s.
No track in America has seen Corvette Racing pile up the mileage and honors than Sebring. Here are a few to digest ahead of America’s oldest sports car race.

1: As in one team, one manufacturer and one model of car for 20 years: Corvette Racing and Chevrolet.
3: Consecutive wins for Corvette Racing heading into the 2018 Sebring race. Antonio Garcia/Jan Magnussen/Ryan Briscoe won in 2015, Oliver Gavin/Tommy Milner/Marcel Fässler in 2016, and Garcia/Magnussen/Mike Rockenfeller in 2017.
3: Tracks where Corvette Racing has competed in each of its previous 19 years: Sebring, Laguna Seca and Road Atlanta
4: GT class pole positions at Sebring for Oliver Gavin and Ron Fellows, tied for most in event history.
8: Sebring victories – a race record – for Johnny O’Connell, a Sebring Hall of Famer who drove for Corvette Racing from 2001-10. It includes one overall and seven class wins.
8: As in Chevrolet’s small-block V8. More than 100 million units have been sold worldwide and is the most successful engine in American motorsports.
11: Number of Sebring victories for Corvette Racing. It’s tied with Canadian Tire Motorsport Park for the most at any venue in team history.
12: Manufacturer Championships for Chevrolet and Corvette Racing since 2001
15: Number of GTLM wins for Corvette Racing since the start of 2014. That is the most of any manufacturer and team in the category.
19: Starts at Sebring for defending GTLM race and Driver Champion Jan Magnussen. He will tie Johnny O’Connell’s record for consecutive Sebring starts in 2018.
21: Tracks at which Corvette Racing has won races – Baltimore, COTA, Canadian Tire Motorsport Park/Mosport, Daytona, Detroit, Houston, Laguna Seca, Le Mans, Lime Rock, Long Beach, Miami, Mid-Ohio, Portland, Road America, Road Atlanta, Sebring, Sonoma, St. Petersburg, Texas, Trois Rivieres and Utah.
24: Corvette Racing drivers at the Sebring 12 Hours through the years: – Justin Bell, Olivier Beretta, Ryan Briscoe, Emmanuel Collard, Kelly Collins, Marcel Fässler, Ron Fellows, Franck Freon, Antonio Garcia, Oliver Gavin, John Heinricy, Chris Kniefel, Robin Liddell, Jan Magnussen, Tommy Milner, Simon Pagenaud, Max Papis, John Paul Jr., Andy Pilgrim, Mike Rockenfeller, Scott Sharp, Jordan Taylor and Richard Westbrook.
106: Victories worldwide for Corvette Racing – 98 in North America and eight at Le Mansv
199: Event starts by Corvette Racing since 1999
40,286: Number of racing miles completed by Corvette Racing during the 12 Hours of Sebring. That’s close to two full trips around the Earth at its equator (approx. 24,900 miles).
271,560.90: Total number of racing miles completed by Corvette Racing since its inception. That is enough to launch a shuttle from Earth to the moon with more than 30,000 miles in excess.

CORVETTE RACING AT SEBRING: Seeking to Conquer the Bumps Once Again

Team going for 12th class victory since 1999 at 12 Hours

Corvette Racing a winner at Sebring each of last three seasons
Garcia, Magnussen, Rockenfeller defending GTLM winners
Gavin, Milner, Fässler took class victory in 2016
200th event all-time for Corvette Racing
Chevrolet nearing 40 class victories in Sebring 12 Hours

DETROIT (March 13, 2018) – In its 19-plus years of competition, Corvette Racing has racked up more victories than any team in IMSA history.
Those 98 victories have come on some of America’s classic road courses with 11 at the famed Sebring International Raceway.
That’s where Corvette Racing returns for the 20th time in search of a fourth consecutive victory in the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring.

This year’s running will be 20th straight appearance at Sebring for Corvette Racing – an odyssey that covers more than 11,000 laps and 40,000 miles and three generations of Corvette race cars.
The team will add to that total when it fields its two Chevrolet Corvette C7.Rs in the 66th annual running of America’s oldest sports car race.
The 12 Hours is the second race of the 2018 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. It also is the 200th event all-time for Corvette Racing.

Sebring success has come often for Corvette Racing with all 11 of its victories have come in the last 16 years.
The roster of drivers – Antonio Garcia, Jan Magnussen and Mike Rockenfeller in the No. 3 Mobil 1/SiriusXM Corvette C7.R; and Oliver Gavin, Tommy Milner and Marcel Fässler in the No. 4 Corvette – have combined for 19 victories in the 12 Hours.

Corvette Racing is on a three-race GT Le Mans (GTLM) class win streak at Sebring, and another victory this weekend will mark the second time that the program has scored four straight class victories… the last coming from 2006-09.
The team also won three in a row from 2002-04. It extended Chevrolet’s record to 38 Sebring victories for the brand.

The two Corvettes and Chevrolet sit second in the GTLM Championship following the first race of the year. Garcia, Magnussen and Rockenfeller finished third in January’s Rolex 24 At Daytona with Gavin, Milner and Fässler in fourth. Both Corvettes ran flawless races – doing so again will go a long way to making it a dozen Sebring wins.

Chevrolet, Corvette on Display at Sebring

This year’s Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring will again feature a heavy dose of Chevrolet – the official vehicle of Sebring International Raceway.
In addition to the two Corvette C7.Rs, the field also will include a Chevrolet Corvette Z06 that will serve as the event pace car.
The Corvette C7.R and production Corvette Z06 represent the closet link between race car and street car with the two sharing a common aluminum chassis, engine technology and aerodynamic strategies.

In the Sebring Midway, the Corvette Racing Display is a must-see for any fan.
A number of vehicles will be on-site for visitors to view and learn about, including the new Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 – a supercar that establishes a new standard at Chevrolet for power output, track performance and technology. As an added bonus, Chevrolet Corvette Product Manager Harlan Charles will give fans a walk-around of the Corvette ZR1 at 3:30 p.m. Friday at the Corvette Racing Display.

Also among the lineup of Chevrolets at the Display include:

Performance models such as the Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE, Camaro GT4.R and Colorado ZR2.
Production vehicles like the Traverse High Country, Silverado 2500 HD High Country and premier models of the Cruze, Malibu and Equinox.
A Corvette C7.R show car
Samples of Chevrolet engines, performance parts and accessories available to fans for purchase from their local Chevrolet dealer
A variety of Chevrolet and racing related activities for adults and kids
Commemorative Corvette Racing 20th Season t-shirts for fans who sign up with Corvette Racing.

The Corvette Racing Display will be open at 9 a.m. on Thursday, and 8 a.m. on Friday and Saturday.

Fans at Sebring also can get behind the wheel of select Chevrolet vehicles at the Chevrolet Ride & Drive located at the Sebring skidpad near the drive-over bridge on the outside of the track. Vehicles available include Corvette, Camaro, Bolt EV, Equinox, Silverado and Traverse.

The Ride & Drive opens at 9 a.m. on Friday and Saturday.

The 66th Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring presented by Advance Auto Parts is the second race of the 2018 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season and begins at 10:40 a.m. ET on Saturday, March 17.
It will air on live on FOX Sports 1 starting at 10:30 a.m. ET with additional coverage across FOX Sports 2, FOX Sports Go and IMSA.com. Live audio coverage of practice, qualifying and the race from IMSA Radio is available on IMSA.com.

ANTONIO GARCIA, NO. 3 MOBIL 1/SiriusXM CHEVROLET CORVETTE C7.R:

"Winning at Sebring last year was a big reason we won the GTLM championship.
Everything came together late in the race – our performance, strategy and execution.
That carried over for the rest of the year. We did it again at Daytona this season and ran a perfect race but had no chance at a victory.
So we know how difficult it will be to win Sebring again. What we may lack in performance we make up in experience at data at Sebring. I hope that gives us an edge."

JAN MAGNUSSEN, NO. 3 MOBIL 1/SiriusXM CHEVROLET CORVETTE C7.R:

"It’s such a cool event. The track is very challenging, but there is a great party going on all around.
The first thing that comes to my mind is the atmosphere of Sebring. It’s a cool place – from Wednesday when campers start coming in until the end of the race. It’s great.

"The car gets unsettled all the time around Sebring.
There are always a bump or two on entry or mid-corner of nearly all the corners. There are some very fast ones at Sebring.
It makes it a huge challenge, but it’s fun. It’s a fantastic feeling when you get it right.
That’s what you aim for."

MIKE ROCKENFELLER, NO. 3 MOBIL 1/SiriusXM CHEVROLET CORVETTE C7.R:

"Winning at Sebring last year was very special.
It’s a great accomplishment when you are able to say you have won the 12 Hours.
So many great names are Sebring winners, and I am honored to be part of that collection.
Last year’s race showed how unpredictable Sebring can be. Corvette Racing did another fantastic job with the strategy and our race plan to put us in the best position to win.
We did the same at Daytona and ran a perfect race, but ultimately that wasn’t enough.
Hopefully we can do it again at Sebring."

OLIVER GAVIN, NO. 4 MOBIL 1/SiriusXM CHEVROLET CORVETTE C7.R:

"Sebring for so many years was the start of our racing season.
Now we have the Rolex 24 At Daytona, but physically Sebring is much harder.
The physicality of the track, speed of the circuit and how the race unfolds is a big challenge.
It’s the night, the lights, the bumps into Turn 17 and Turn One, braking for Turn Three, seeing where the sand comes on the track at turns Five and Seven Turn 17 is one of the craziest and hardest corners on any track in the U.S. It’s a wide ride and that really sums up the Sebring circuit.
You feel like you are on a bucking bronco the whole time and are trying at times to hang on a bit."

TOMMY MILNER, NO. 4 MOBIL 1/SiriusXM CHEVROLET CORVETTE C7.R:

"It seems like it has been all or nothing at Sebring the last few years for us in the No. 4 Corvette.
We’ve had some really good races there like 2013 and 2016, and we’ve had years that didn’t go so well.
After Daytona, I think we can feel good about where we are. Both cars had excellent runs with no mistakes.
We also had a good test last month at Sebring to fine-tune some items we need to improve on. Given that and our extensive notebook of data plus our history at Sebring, we can feel confident going into this race."

MARCEL FÄSSLER, NO. 4 MOBIL 1/SiriusXM CHEVROLET CORVETTE C7.R:

"It is helpful to get as much time as possible at Sebring, so I’m glad we have a positive test there last month.
You cannot simulate a lap around Sebring anywhere in the world. To me, that is one of the things which makes this race challenging and enjoyable.
Our goal for sure is to return to the Winner’s Circle at Sebring and position Corvette Racing high in the championship.
We started well in Daytona so expect to do the same here."

DOUG FEHAN, CORVETTE RACING PROGRAM MANAGER:

"Sebring is never an easy place to find victory.
It has a little bit of everything – long straights, really fast corners, a crushingly slow hairpin, hard braking zones, bumps and even potholes, sometimes.
With that said, I don’t think there are many places where we have more fun competing, mainly because anything can happen and most of the time it does.
Rest assured, we have done our usual great job of preparing our Corvette C7.Rs and will squeeze out every bit of performance that we can.
I know the entire team is looking forward to seeing all our favorite Sebring fans once again.
And who knows, maybe we can make it FOUR in a row!"

CORVETTE RACING AT SEBRING: All Focus Ahead for Four in a Row

Defending GTLM championship team has won three years in a row at 12 Hours

SEBRING, Fla. (March 16, 2018) – Corvette Racing will go for its fourth consecutive class victory in the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring on Saturday with its two Chevrolet Corvette C7.Rs line astern for the start of Saturday’s second round of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.

Friday’s GT Le Mans (GTLM) qualifying session at Sebring International Raceway saw defending race winner Antonio Garcia set the pace for Corvette Racing with a 156.588 (115.484 mph) in the No. 3 Mobil 1/SiriusXM Chevrolet Corvette C7.R that he shares with Jan Magnussen and Mike Rockenfeller – his partners in last year’s triumph.

Tommy Milner will start directly behind Magnussen on the grid in the No. 4 Corvette C7.R after his best lap of 1:56.900 (115.176 mph) in qualifying.
He and teammates Oliver Gavin and Marcel Fässler won two years ago at Sebring in the No. 4 Corvette.

With Friday’s qualifying in the books, the stage is set for Corvette Racing to write another chapter in its extensive history at Sebring.
The team has won 11 times in class at the 12 Hours – more than any other entrant in race history – including the last three seasons. Each victory was the result of execution and mistake-free races for each of the winning Corvettes to overcome ultimate qualifying pace.

Sebring also is one of three circuits at which Corvette Racing has appeared in its 19-plus seasons, and the program has logged more than 40,000 racing miles over the 3.7-mile, 17-turn road course.

Saturday’s race also will mark Corvette Racing’s 200th event start as it continues to celebrate its 20th season of competition.

3 MOBIL 1/SiriusXM CHEVROLET CORVETTE C7.R: – QUALIFIED SEVENTH IN GTLM:

"We may have stayed where we have been position-wise, but I think we closed the gap to the front quite a bit.
The Corvette seems to be going in the right direction with still some things to come.
I think, I hope, we still have tools and ideas to take what we have and continue to improve.
In every session we made pretty big changes to try and find the path.
I think we did find the right direction. We definitely still need to work and improve the car because it’s not how it should be. But a day like today makes you feel like we might have a chance. Maybe not a chance to win like last year but if we are close enough we can make things happen to get a good result.
We need to improve a tiny bit more, close the gap a tiny bit more and see what tomorrow brings."

TOMMY MILNER, NO. 4 MOBIL 1/SiriusXM CHEVROLET CORVETTE C7.R – QUALIFIED NINTH IN GTLM:

"We have struggled this weekend.
Certainly we are using each session to learn something new from our Corvette – trying some new stuff.
We are headed in the right direction for sure and making the cars drive nicer and getting closer to a car that we can drive for 12 hours.
We are a little bit on the back foot, it seems, with the rest of the field.
The best we can do is keep working hard on our car things like analyzing everything we are doing and getting the best car that we can.
In qualifying, that is best car we’ve had all weekend.
In practice this morning, the car felt pretty good. We’ve made good gains this weekend.
I’m sure we can make a couple more small adjustments for the race, but I think we are in a good place."

CORVETTE RACING AT SEBRING: Valiant Effort in Chase for Four Straight

Gavin, Milner, Fässler lead team with fifth-place GTLM finish at 12 Hours

SEBRING, Fla. (March 17, 2018) – Corvette Racing put forth another strong effort in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship on Saturday with Oliver Gavin, Tommy Milner and Marcel Fässler leading the team’s efforts at the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring presented by Advance Auto Parts.

The trio in their No. 4 Mobil 1/SiriusXM Chevrolet Corvette C7.R placed sixth in GT Le Mans (GTLM) after a trouble-free run that saw the Corvette go from ninth at the start to the lead of the race at the four-hour mark.

As was the case at the season-opening Rolex 24 At Daytona, the No. 4 Corvette team didn’t make any missteps, didn’t lose any time in the pitlane and kept the C7.R running all day and into the night. The pace from the rest of the front-running cars, however, proved to be more than a spotless race could overcome.

Saturday marked Corvette Racing’s 20th appearance at the Sebring 12 Hours, which started with the team hoping for its 12th class victory and fourth in a row.
The race also was the 200th event for the Corvette Racing program.

Defending Sebring class winners Antonio Garcia, Jan Magnussen and Mike Rockenfeller – in the No. 3 Corvette – finished eighth in class after a determined fightback from a variety of early-race troubles.
The Corvette suffered a punctured tire resulting from contact on the opening lap, followed by visits to the garage to solve electrical and steering problems in the first six hours.

The next event for Corvette Racing is the Bubba Burger Sports Car Grand Prix at Long Beach from the streets of Long Beach, Calif., on Saturday, April 14 with live television coverage on FOX.

OLIVER GAVIN, NO. 4 MOBIL 1/SiriusXM CHEVROLET CORVETTE C7.R – FINISHED SIXTH IN GTLM:

“It looked like in the middle of the race that we were looking pretty good. As we started to lose the sunlight, it looked like we lost the balance and performance in the car.
We were unable to generate the grip we needed to be competitive.
There are some lessons to learn here.
We battled all weekend with our Corvette and tried to come away with as many points as possible.
It’s frustrating through to have a clean race, not make any mistakes and come away with nothing. Marcel and Tommy drove well.
We rolled the dice a couple of times on strategies."

TOMMY MILNER, NO. 4 MOBIL 1/SiriusXM CHEVROLET CORVETTE C7.R – FINISHED SIXTH IN GTLM:

"All things considered, that was as good as we could have expected today when you look at how practice shook out.
All the guys on the team did a great job. Marcel and Olly did a great job – no mistakes.
I only had one little bit of contact from another car all day between the three of us.

We can’t be unhappy about that. We tried everything we could throughout the race to make something happen strategy calls, car changes, things like that
We can be proud of the effort we put in all weekend. We never gave up!
But I still think we can be disappointed with the finishing result.
That is a valid frustration. We got OK points.
Our Corvette’s in one piece. We can all hold our heads high knowing we did the best job we could today."

MARCEL FÄSSLER, NO. 4 MOBIL 1/SiriusXM CHEVROLET CORVETTE C7.R – FINISHED SIXTH IN GTLM:

"If you look at the results, I think it we can for sure be a bit disappointed because we knew it was going to be a very tough race for us going into it today.
But now seeing it that there really wasn’t a chance to go on the podium, it is disappointing for the team.
But we look now to the future, and we know that we come back stronger.
It wasn’t our weekend, now we focus forward."

ANTONIO GARCIA, NO. 3 MOBIL 1/SiriusXM CHEVROLET CORVETTE C7.R- FINISHED NINTH IN GTLM:

"For us here, it feels like we either go from winning to completely out of contention.
It is a bit of a shame to not even be able to fight for it. We knew at the start that it would be hard.
After the puncture, we kind of came back and I had the feeling following the Porsches that the car wasn’t that bad.
That was in the opening hour. I had some hope there that it was probably going to be a good race for us.

But then everything fell apart. It was very unfortunate. It was very difficult to spot are issues were. We lost a ton of laps.
In this category, as soon as you have a little mistake, you lose every opportunity."

JAN MAGNUSSEN, NO. 3 MOBIL 1/SiriusXM CHEVROLET CORVETTE C7.R – FINISHED NINTH IN GTLM:

This is Sebring for you. When things are great around here, man they are so great.
But when they are like they are today, boy is it a long day. Our guys worked hard so we could go back out.
We drove to the end to take whatever we can take. It is just about salvaging one or two more points if we can.
It’s not what we came here for, but it is what we have."

MIKE ROCKENFELLER, NO. 3 MOBIL 1/SiriusXM CHEVROLET CORVETTE C7.R – FINISHED NINTH IN GTLM:

“I had a couple of decent stints there. In the first one, we were still struggling with the steering.
After that, things were fine. The Corvette was very good and it was good to get more laps.
The track was difficult and very greasy for everyone toward the end of my second stint.
We thought we would have a chance of victory, but we tried everything we could.
Our pace was similar to the No. 4 Corvette.
Things happen at Sebring but we kept fighting."
