Firstly my apologies for the delay with a reply, a ‘medical issue’ put me on my back in hospital for a while, but it will take a lot more than that to keep me away from my vet !
I’m extremely grateful for the reply and the offer to help provide any advice about what’s happening with my girl (even my neighbours are complaining…. they say they miss the sound of that V8 roar in the morning when she starts!). Below is a status of how things developed and where I am with things right now.
Last year whenever I ran over a large pot whole or speed bump it triggered either a “Low fuel” DIC warning with the gauge dropped to zero, or a “Traction control” warning and the orange dash light illuminated. The codes were easily cleared and all quickly seemed well again. Towards the end of the year I had a couple of instanced when after stopping (after a faultless run) for coffee, fuel or shopping etc. when I got back in, she reluctantly started, with “ Reduced power “. After running through the codes and clearing everything it was back to full power and I could make it home. This became more regular to the point where every journey was a major issue and things couldn’t continue like that. So with Low fuel, traction control, service vehicle soon, and reduced power warnings I read all I could about potential vet problems. I’ve read a lot about the cars earthling issues, so I got stuck in and have removed /cleaned/ re greased G101, G102, and G401, G201 earth connectors / blocks so far. Testing after I finished each one – with no benefits, until after the last one (G201) when she started! I let it run for a few mins and all seemed ok. I turned off and went to make that celebratory cup of coffee, however on returning to restart her, I got the same issues as before. (turns over but won’t fire), with the same DIC warnings. That got me thinking - why start one time and not the next,…all I did was spin the ignition key – could the ignitions electrical switch be part of the issue?? So not sure if I should delve into that one next? Or if it’s clouding over other bigger issues. Unfortunately it will soon be “summer” over here and I fear I’m going to miss it (I think it’s on June the 27th this year !) I’m keen to get her up and running, so ANY feedback would be very gratefully received.
