Within the 1st hour of the race

Dane Cameron led the opening hour of the Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen, maintaining an Acura 1-2 from the pole.

Cameron’s No. 60 Meyer Shank Racing Acura ARX-05 holds a 4.643-second advantage over pole-sitter Ricky Taylor in the No. 10 Wayne Taylor Racing entry following the first round of pit stops in the IMSA Michelin Endurance Cup round.

While having started second on the grid, Cameron jumped into the lead early as John Farano spun and clobbered the wall in his No. 8 Tower Motorsport by Starworks Oreca 07 Gibson in Turn 1.

A left-rear fire from the No. 79 WeatherTech Racing Porsche 911 RSR-19 of Cooper MacNeil that happened simultaneously brought out the race’s first full-course caution on the opening lap.

MacNeil drove the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring class-winning Porsche into the pits on fire before bailing from the car in a competitor’s pit box.

It marked the first official retirement of the race.

The No. 01 Chip Ganassi Racing Cadillac DPi-V.R of Renger van der Zande runs in third ahead of Pipo Derani’s No. 31 Action Express Racing Cadillac and the Harry Tincknell-driven No. 55 Mazda RT24-P in fifth.
