Well Everyone, I am sitting in a Holiday Inn in Knoxville, TN, 850 miles from home. I took the Vette for it's last road trip of the year, before I put it away to fix the oil leak, install the water injection, and mold in the rear brake scoops from JR's favorite vender, Ernie. Hey what can I say, I like the way his scoops look, and they use the stock Z06 ducting to bring the air around the tire.
Anyway, the car ran so damn good with the latest JR tune. DIC readings were as follows, after reset from start, (I considered running an Ease report, hehehe). Average speed, 76.8MPH, ( I took it easy this time, my last run from Bowling Green had an AVERAGE speed in the low eightes), Elapsed time, 11 hours+/-, Average MPG 29.3!!!!!! Yep, that's my 500 HP economy car out there in the parking garage. hehehe Thanks JR, money MORE than well spent!!!
What was interesting was how much a few MPH would do to the gas milage. 70MPH would net you over 31mpg, go to 75 and it dropped to 30, 78 would keep it in the 29.6 range, but over 80 would drop it to 29mpg. after a couple of 100+ mph bursts, she dropped to low 28s, and I had to pedal it at 75 mph to get back to 29+. Had to blow off those Audis and Rustangs that kept pestering me though, and keep the Corvette marque in proper standing.
