Well took the rebel out for a 150 mile drive from home to Sacramento Ca.
This was mainly freeway driving ( about 98 percent of trip)
I reset all fuel and trip gauges after i did a fillup at home.

The end numbers were for a overall trip average of 76.5 MPH ( with a few
blasts to 130 MPH)
with 25.6 MPG.

Considering the weekend warriors packing the whole trip getting that speed
average was a chore.

C5 -

1. The windshield has too much refection, could see the dash
reflectig off of it, more so then the C4 did.
2. At least in the rebel's case, the cars inside noise is louder
then the C4s. Almost like a window was open
when they were shut. Maybe due to the tubbing.
3. I can see where people might get over their heads at high speed
into corners. As the car is moving faster,
the gizmo they put in this model makes the steering effort
harder, thus when the front tires are losing grip
to the driver it feels nice and tight.
4. The ride itseld is OK, but of course with 30 series tires,
little sidewall, bumps are felt more.
5. Considering my back problems, I had no ill effects siting in
the car for 150 miles.

Mallet 435 -

1. In sixth gear with this 3.73 rear gear at 100 MPH, tach was at about
2,200 RPMs.
2. Even using 6th, at 65 MPH, I could make a pass without gettig out of
that gear. Torque being plenty
helped pull in the higher gears without downshifting.
3. I do not know the brand of muffers, but at higher speed, it sounds too
much like stainless steel.
4. Going from 65 to 130 plus was real easy and quick. I could be hung up
in traffic, find a hole and time
I thought of hitting that hole, it was already done.
5. Water temps stayed right at 192 degrees and oil at 216 degrees.
6. Engine never missed a beat, constant power band, no lags and in the end
good gas mileage,
even when having fun.

Sounds sweet JR [Linked Image] Torque is a beautiful thing...especially when you make it all the way up through the rev range. (of course, same Tq. # at higher RPM = bigger HP [Linked Image] )
