Jack Aitken paced the first IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship practice session for this weekend’s Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen, putting the No. 31 Action Express Racing Cadillac V-Series.R atop the time sheets.
Aitken’s 1:34.584 lap time bested the pair of Meyer Shank Racing Acura ARX-06s, led by Nick Yelloly and Tom Blomqvist in the Nos. 93 and 60 cars, respectively.

The GTP championship-leading No. 7 Penske Porsche 963 of Nick Tandy was fourth quickest, ahead of the pair of Wayne Taylor Racing Cadillacs and the two Team RLL-run BMW M Hybrid V8s.
Mathieu Jaminet and Ross Gunn completed the overall top-ten for Porsche Penske and Heart of Racing Team, respectively.

The LMP2 pace-setting No. 74 Riley Oreca 07 Gibson of Felipe Fraga, as well as the second-placed No. 22 United Autosports entry of Paul Di Resta, were both quicker than the No. 63 Lamborghini SC63 of Romain Grosjean.
Both of the privateer Porsches from JDC-Miller Motorsports and Proton Competition were mired further down the LMP2 order.
Scott Andrews was quickest of the production-based cars in the GTD class No. 80 Lone Star Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo.

Andrews’ 1:45.867 lap was less than a tenth quicker than GTD Pro pace-setter Andrea Caldarelli in the No. 9 Pfaff Motorsports Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO2.

The No. 36 DXDT Racing Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R of Alec Udell was second in GTD and third quickest amongst the GT cars.

The No. 3 Corvette Racing by Pratt Miller Racing entry was the only car not to take to the track during the 90-minute session due to gearbox issues, which has resulted in the team making a precautionary gearbox change.

The session saw two red flags, the first in the final 30 minutes when the Fraga stopped on track with a reported electrical power cut. As soon as the red was called, the Brazilian was able to re-fire his No. 74 Oreca.
The second red came ten minutes later for the No. 8 Tower Motorsport entry of John Farano, who spun and stopped on track in Turn 9.

Practice 2 is scheduled for Saturday at 9 a.m. EST.
