No. 11 Corvette second in Pro-Am heading to Indy Eight Hours; Chouest Povoledo in two classes

For the second year in a row, DXDT Racing will fight for a championship with its Chevy Corvette Z06 GT3.R in GT World Challenge, America’s final race of the season at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. This weekend 10/17 - 19th

The Indianapolis Eight Hours doubles as the series finale and also the last round of SRO’s Intercontinental GT Challenge.

DXDT Racing’s No. 11 Corvette of Matt Bell and Blake McDonald enters the race second in GT World Challenge America Pro-Am Drivers Championship and are well within range of winning the title.

Bell and McDonald will drive at Indianapolis with Alec Udell, who drove this year for DXDT in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship’s GTD class and was part of the team’s GT World Challenge Pro-class effort last year alongside Tommy Milner.

Bell and McDonald arrive at Indianapolis off a victory in the previous round at Baber Motorsports Park – their fourth Pro-Am win of the season. They are 19 points behind the leading BMW with 50 points going to the winner, 36 to the runner-up and 30 to third place.

Chouest Povoledo Racing also will contest the eight-hour event with three drivers in its No. 50 Z06 GT3.R full-season drivers Ross Chouest and Aaron Povoledo with Corvette Racing factory driver Nicky Catsburg filling out the lineup. This season has been the first for the Chouest Povoledo squad with Corvette.

The team’s best finish is a fourth-place showing at Virginia International Raceway, but Chouest is a two-time winner in GT America this year with the team’s second Corvette.

The Indianapolis Eight Hours is scheduled for 12:20 p.m. ET on Saturday from the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Road Course.

MATT BELL, NO. 11 CHEVROLET CORVETTE Z06 GT3.R:

“The goal before the season was to get to this point, absolutely. Blake and I had worked together before, and I was well aware of his potential to perform how he has. Blake has matched if not exceeded those expectations. He’s put in some really strong performance this year, and I’ve been impressed with how he’s approached it all.
We expected to be in the fight, and we’re in it. It’s nice for that part of the story to have gone well. Now we need to finish it out.”

“Track position is always important here. It’s basically eight one-hour races the way the ruleset works. If we can win all eight of them, then we’ll win the race in the end! Blake has been a big strength for us against the other Bronze drivers.
I think every time he’s gotten out of the car, I jumped in at least second, if not in the lead.
Then it’ll be up to Alec and me to keep it there against some tough competition. We’ve done it plenty of times this season, and we aim to do it again.”

The GT America powered by AWS field returned to Indianapolis Motor Speedway for Thursday afternoon’s Practice 2, as the championship contenders continued to fine-tune their machinery ahead of the weekend’s finale.
The Brickyard once again delivered a busy session filled with tight margins and late-session shakeups, with the top spots changing hands multiple times before the checkered flag waved.

It was another commanding showing for Blake McDonald, who picked up right where he left off from the morning session by pacing the field early in his No. 11 DXDT Racing Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R. McDonald went to the top within the first ten minutes, but the battle behind him quickly intensified, with George Kurtz in the No. 04 CrowdStrike by Riley Mercedes-AMG GT3 EVO and Jeff Burton in the No. 91 Regulator Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3 EVO keeping the pressure on.

At the halfway mark, Kurtz improved to second, while Tony Davis briefly broke into the top three in his No. 004 HP-TECH Ferrari 296 GT3, before being displaced by Memo Gidley in the No. 101 TKO Motorsports Mercedes-AMG GT3 EVO. As the clock wound down, championship leader Justin Rothberg vaulted his No. 29 Turner Motorsport BMW M4 GT3 into second place, splitting McDonald and Gidley at the top of the charts. Gidley ultimately completed the top three, ahead of Kurtz in fourth and Davis in fifth.

The GT2 battle once again ensued between Evan King and CJ Moses. Moses opened the session strong in his No. 58 GMG Racing Audi R8 LMS GT2, setting the early pace, but King turned up the speed in the closing stages to reclaim the top spot aboard his No. 62 Flying Lizard Motorsports Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo, mirroring the outcome of the morning’s Practice 1.

In GT4, the early benchmark was set by Craig Lumsden in the No. 610 Flying Lizard Motorsports BMW M4 GT4 (G82) EVO, before Jozsef Petkes moved ahead in the No. 83 RCX Motorsport Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport. However, it was Mike Johnson who once again proved strongest over the course of the session, taking top honors in the No. 007 Archangel Motorsports with Pro-Sport Competition Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT4. Johnson’s time held to the finish, with Petkes and Lumsden completing the top three.

The final weekend of the GT America powered by AWS season is officially underway at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, as competitors took to the track for the opening Practice 1 session under clear skies and cool fall conditions. With the season finale sharing the stage with the prestigious Indianapolis 8 Hour, drivers are looking to close out their 2025 campaigns on a strong note.

The SRO3 field wasted no time finding speed, with the top three swapping positions throughout the 40-minute session. It was Blake McDonald who ultimately set the pace, leading a strong showing for Chevrolet with his No. 11 DXDT Racing Corvette Z06 GT3.R. McDonald put together a near-flawless lap, lighting up two purple sectors en route to a session-best 1:24.259, narrowly edging out George Kurtz by just 0.066 seconds.

Kurtz, driving the No. 04 CrowdStrike by Riley Mercedes-AMG GT3 EVO, was followed closely by fellow Mercedes-AMG driver Kenny Habul in the No. 75 75 Express entry, with all three front-runners doubling up their weekend duties as participants in Saturday’s Indianapolis 8 Hour endurance classic.

Behind the top trio, Joel Cortes impressed in fourth position aboard the No. 19 RS1 Porsche 911 GT3 R (992), while series veteran Ross Chouest rounded out the top five in his No. 50 Chouest Povoledo Racing Corvette Z06 GT3.R, giving the bowtie brand two entries in the top five.

In the GT2 class, Evan King showed strong pace in the No. 62 Flying Lizard Motorsports Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo, while CJ Moses made his return to GT America competition with the No. 58 GMG Racing Audi R8 LMS GT2.

The GT4 field was led by Mike Johnson in the No. 007 Archangel Motorsports with Pro-Sport Competition Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT4, with Jozsef Petkes following in second in the No. 83 RCX Motorsport Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport, and Craig Lumsden completing the top three aboard the No. 610 Flying Lizard Motorsports BMW M4 GT4 (G82) EVO.

Number 11 Z06 will be the lead car when race begins

Twelve rounds have elapsed so far in the 2025 GT World Challenge America powered by AWS season, and now the year will come to an epic conclusion this weekend at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, where the ongoing Pro-Am championship fight is set to be decided in the grand finale Indianapolis 8 Hour.

Leading the standings with 210 points, Turner Motorsport enters the final round in command of the championship battle.
The No. 29 Turner Motorsport BMW M4 GT3, piloted by Justin Rothberg and Robby Foley, has been a consistent front-runner all season long, collecting numerous podiums, as well as five impressive wins that have kept the team at the top of the leaderboard.

The duo, joined by Patrick Gallagher for the endurance event, is aiming to defend their title after clinching the Pro-Am championship in dramatic fashion at last year’s Indy 8 Hour. Last time around, they came into the final round with a points deficit and a big hurdle to overcome, but this year they are the ones with the target on their backs.

Their closest challengers, DXDT Racing, arrive at the Brickyard just 19 points adrift, with a total of 191 points to their name. The team’s No. 11 Corvette Z06 GT3.R, shared by full-season drivers Blake McDonald and Matt Bell, who are accompanied in Indianapolis by Alec Udell, has shown tremendous pace throughout the season, keeping the pressure on Turner Motorsport with several strong performances, including four wins.
Although they had some mixed results in the opening rounds, they have come back swinging, and their recent top form enabled them to close the gap significantly.

Notably, Udell was also part of the championship battle with DXDT Racing in 2024, and with the amount of experience and knowledge the trio is equipped with, this three-driver lineup is poised to make one final charge for the title, and they will certainly be a big threat to watch out for.
Adding to the intensity of the finale,
Turner Motorsport’s No. 29 BMW earned a spot in Friday evening’s Pole Shootout, qualifying 10th overall on the grid for the eight-hour endurance classic, and also the top qualifiers in the Pro-Am category. The performance positions the team solidly within striking distance as strategy, consistency, and teamwork become the deciding factors over the long-distance contest.

However, DXDT Racing will start from 11th place overall, and second in the Pro-Am class, just behind Turner Motorsport.
Although there are eight hours on the clock, all eyes will be set on this showdown from the moment the green flag waves.

Both teams know the stakes could not be any higher.
One final race to determine who will emerge as the 2025 Pro-Am Champions of GT World Challenge America powered by AWS, and it all comes down to Indy.
