The C trolley Line was knocked out of service for a couple of hours tonight after somebody drove a late-model Corvette onto the tracks at Marion Street, near Summit Avenue, in Brookline.

Transit Police Supt. Richard Sullivan said the investigation is still ongoing, but said,
"an unlicensed, uninsured, adult male operator will be criminally summoned for numerous motor vehicle violations."
The guy, 20, "stated he was unfamiliar with the area and took a wrong turn."
Sullivan added: "Corvette, yikes." More specifically, it was a '24 Corvette Stingray.

On-track cars are more common a few blocks away on the B Line, but generally consist of lower-priced models, such as older Toyotas and Kias, with the occasional BMW.

The T, which already has lots of Green Line bustitution going on, due to scheduled repair work, brought in a few more buses to toodle between Cleveland Circle and Coolidge Corner, at least until shortly before 9 p.m., when they got the Corvette off the tracks with a wrecker and resumed service.
Yes, the T has big-ass tow trucks, although we suspect they're normally used for buses (photo by Transit PD):

No Name, and was he an illegal Alien ?
