Being I have other customers who have had problems with this vendor 1st hand, I elect this vendor in this forum section where they belong.

After custom tuning for over 12 years now I thought I had seen it all until now.

C5 owner gets sucked into cyberspace vendor
LS1speed Inc ( also uses Speedinc business name)
at 803C Albion Ave Schaumburg IL 60193 to pay to have his 2004 C5 engine built up after this shop tuned the car and then there was engine damage, all the so called hardened parts, boost, coolers, etc and a so called dyno tune.

Big bucks for sure. this so called shop tells him to just cruise for like 2,000 miles for engine to break in which he does for a grand total of 100 miles and engine locks up due to low oil pressure !
Owner has car towed back to that shop

Shop tries to then con him to pay them more for a new engine, no warranty for what they already did and owner to find the crank bearing spun and locked up sex

They even tried to tell him to get car out of that shop must pay them more or not get the car until then forcing the owner to have a lawyer go after the shop who quickly then releases the car back to owner.

He gets car back, has someone else fix engine to find car runs like shit due to the crappy dyno tune.
Owner contacts us and in short the shop not only locked the PCM, but changed the codes checksum so no tuner tool would see it as a Corvette PCM and worse the VIN # in that PCM was not even for that car.
Which says they do not do the tuning but farm it out with one of those cookie cutter tuners where you send them your PCM and they send you another one with a canned tune.

Think about it, the car is a 2004 and the VIN they had used was also a 2004 but different car.
This owner could have gone to a dealer or even a smog shop doing I/M tests.
Dealer sees bad mods, says warranty is voided or smog shop fails car as gross polluter and in both cases would have assigned that to the VIN # in that car's PCM thus owner of other 2004 would be stuck with the bad record.

Owner has lawyer working on 6 figure lawsuit eek

Update:

Since July 5th 207 someone claiming to be from a company under that name has been contacting me via emails making threats of lawsuit.
At the same time many of his friends (I assume) have sent threats and hammering on the forum but in the end we stand by everything we have seen 1st hand as to PCM locked so other tuner tools would not work, Vin # in the PCM belonged to another Z06 and owner, the sad state of the tune, and all the recorded/collected OBD-II scanner data and the PCM that has been stored to be used by owner in court.

We stand by our customers and we do not remove their content when any vendor complains for the car owners also have rights and that includes having their story told when the ending is not good and here the Vette owner is number 1 and the heck with what vendors like or dislike which is uncommon for most forums prevent the truth and remove anyone who posts content negative to a vendor who is paying that forum.

Our purpose in allowing this type of content is if need be to shame the vendor to stand up and make good with the work, warranty and parts they sold and for this is not a buck taco but owner spending thousands of dollars and car tied up for months by these custom shops to end up with a blown motor in less then 100 miles.

Attached is two OBD-II scanner recordings owner did once engine failure was repaired and doing a cruise still using the so called custom tune over 2 different days to verify engine and the collected data.

It is clear that even a low engine loads the fuel trims were as much as -16% too rich which does not help washing down the piston rings, exhaust makeup to sparkplugs, O2s and CATs

Not what you'd expect from a custom tune puke

Due to getting lots of private emails about this and doing a lot of checking up and research here is some background

[*]Cars Work History

Owner has a well known shop install a supercharger.

He then takes it for a custom dyno tune at this Speedinc in 2005.

After the lousy tune was done the engine has severe problems.
Speedinc ( also known as LS1speed) talks the owner into a new engine in late 2005.

Shop does not have engine done ( car sitting all that time at that shop) until late March 2006)

Cost over $9,000, including another custom tune being paid again sick

Included in charging him when they took the radiator out ( keep in mind this is a 2004 and work being done in 2005) they claim it went bad and required a new one, also claimed starter went bad and charged for another one.

Owner is told not to drive car more then cruising speed for couple thousand miles.

Within 100 miles engine seizes up result of very low oil pressure of only 9 PSI.

Has car hauled back to that shop and is told to pay for a new engine, owner refuses and shop demands money to release car, including costs of storing the car at that shop while engine was blown.

Owner has his lawyer contact shop and they release car.

Owner has engine torn down to find new bearing on new crank cooked within that 100 miles car was driven.

Owner claims they never gace him back the old engine and most of its parts.

Owner has engine redone, engine runs like crap, that is when we were contacted and having owner purchase a OBD-II scanner and doing a short drive is when we can see how bad the tune was.

This verifies shop or whoever they had tune the PCM locked it so that no others could download the PCM to either see the tune or to properly tune it.

This caused the C5 owner to yank the PCM out and ship it to us.
We then checked with LS1edit and Tunercat and as seen below both tuner programs could not even tell what type of car or year.
This forced us to purchase a new PCM, tune it from the blind, ship back to customer

He then had to go through the car's relearn process, do scanner testruns and then we had to tweak the tune and via email send him updates to clean the mess up

This cost customer more down time until this all was done and the additional costs.
Uncalled for shops to lock PCM so that only they can access the PCM calibration. Generally I see this when the reason for locking is so no one can see how bad the tune was and what they did wrong or lack of real tuning experience causing poor tuning which can cause major engine damage

Rated a double screwover bana2

From reading this it sounds as if they actually trashed two engines with their canned tune.

Brett you are correct for after the first tune the orginal engine went bad.

Shop talked owner into the new engine and mods which that engine failed after only 100 miles of only part throttle driving and loss of oil pressure frying bearing on crank is not from customer's driving style.

Not sure if the guy sending me the hate email is one of the owners but gives you an idea of the IQ level :

My name is James Moran. I work for Speed Inc.
I use the same screen name on -
cz28.com
ls1tech.com
turbomustangs.com
chitownracing.com
mfba.com
...and many others

---------
My suggestion would be to spend far less time living on forums and more time to do quality work for the prices your shop charges

---------------------
I can barely read your incoherent babble. It's obvious to me that your are mentally incapacitated, most likely the result of many generations of in-breeding. Since you cannot communicate intelligently this will be our last correspondence.

If you are generous enough to do the world a favor I suggest you enlist the help of a Dr. Jack Kevorkian.

Cheers. -Jim

Now does this show the level of people you'd want working on your car ?

These are images taken from this C5 after 100 miles on new engine and the lazy and non experienced work by this shop

Notice the rear O2s, they cut the wires off to leave O2s in pipe rather then doing the right thing and keeping them functional but at least if they were not going to use them was to seal the bungs rather then cut the wires which BTW with the cut ends become a EMI/RFI noise path to confuse then PCM

Notice at idle the engine only had 9 PSI oil pressure ! puke
and then the damage in only 100 miles to the main bearings of crank !

Pure and simple, owner paid over $10,000 and got a new engine blown to shit. sex
