5-point harness bar by Vetteworks Motorsports
Installed this for a C6 customer who bought it. Cost and this is without the harness belts = $531 !
It claims in part quote :
Vetteworks manufactures the C6 Corvette harness bar " Sharkbar ™ Series- C6. The Series C6 bar is a bolt-in unit for all 2005 & 2006 Corvette standard and 2006 Z06 coups.
The Series C6 bar is designed to keep both occupants securely in place while auto crossing or drag or road racing.
But then only after paying for this and then reading the not very good install instructions says in part :
Disclaimer Vetteworks LLC products and parts warranties are voided if the vehicle or part is used for competition or if they fail as a result of modification. Vetteworks Harness bars are for low speed applications only.
It is the purchaser/drivers responsibility to inspect the dimensions, specifications, and performance of all parts as being appropriate for the use to which the purchaser/driver will put them prior to any actual installation and use of said products and/or parts. Products and parts are sold "as is" without any warranty whatsoever.
Implied warranties, including warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose, are excluded. The entire risk of quality and performance of such parts is with the buyer. Should such parts prove defective following their purchase, the buyer and not the manufacturers, distributors, or retailers, assume the entire cost of all necessary services or repair.
The purchaser/driver is on notice that racing competition is an inherently dangerous activity, which can result in serious personal injury and even death to participants and even to spectators. If these parts and/or products are used in motor sport competition, any and all risk of and liability for any resulting damage, injury or death is with the purchaser/driver. Vetteworks LLC in no event shall be held liable for special or consequential damages.
Well that conflicts with the content in the marketing hype as being used on drag strip or road racing.
Install requires ripping out the inner quarter and B-pillar trim panels. Once you fight the panels back on you notice in the picture that if you were a tech at some race you could not tell if the bar was properly mounted or even mounted to anything, thus they might fail the car in tech.
Notice the bar has zero bar support and designs like this have been known during a crash for the force to cause bar to bend foward making the harness belts useless so for over $500 you get a piece of pipe you could have gotten at a hardware store for less then $20.

As they state there is no Warranty and use at your own risk
In other words they know it does not work, looks good for the wazers.
Who spends $500 for a pipe, another couple of hundred bucks for the belts and use it on LOW speed events where 5-point harness is not even required.
That bar then 99% of the time is just in the way if you wanted to reach back and grab something in the hatch area.
Also FYI, it will take you couple of hours just to install it, and I got at least 5 cuts on hands doing it. You have to take off the stock shoulder belt, its retractor, off the seat rails and worse is you have to that pipe through both inner trims and then fight it all to get the trims mounted again. Right seat is so close to doorsill I had to take seat off and lift it up to get to the bolt holding ending of shoulder belt
Better design and cheaper $350, I have used for years in my C5 from AS&M.
No drilling or cutting necessary
Retains stock seat belts
Accommodates 4 or 5 point harnesses
Complete with video camer mount, fire extinguisher mount and mounting hardware
Available in black powder coat or chrome plated
As you see it sits lower to properly allow belts through the seat back, has a metal U shape that goes around hatch lip to help prevent bar bending in and does not require ripping hatch and B-pillar trim apart
