This 2007 with A6 trannie really must have come from hell

Rich from Kimble Motorsports out of Boise Id had a customer with a early 2007 with A6 that had already had headers and POS vararam installed come to him to install mods he already bought from that LG motorsports. They choose the makeup as to CAM, heads, LS7 injectors, L92 intake manifold and throttlebody.

Rich should have seen the writing on the way when he looked at the so called LG CAM where LGM had ground off the true vendor's part number off the CAM. Worse is LGM when Rich called him refused to say what the CAM specs are. puke

As we all know auto trannie and worse A6 is not going to allow radical CAM grinds and low vaccum at low engine loads.

Rich asked LGM if the existing CAM gear would be fine to use with the new CAM and was told YES.

Rich installs the parts, goes to fire up the engine and engine is puking so I asked for a Ease recording which when I replay see the CAM sensor is complaining like a bitch in heat.

Rich calls LGM and they say "Oh, that CAM requires a LS7 CAM gear, this means Rich has to take the front end off again to change gear. Rich asked since it was a LG screwup if they intended to pay his labor which is several hours and they tell him it is his problem and NO.

Now he goes to flash the tune I sent him, does that and pushes the button and engine will not turn over.
Assuming the PCM got wacked he buys another PCM which is blank so he has to go to a dealer and get it flashed for that car.

Then he flashes a new tune I had to do for that PCM. Again goes to start car and it is fucking DEAD !

Now he contacts carputing of LS2edit and then has to overnight both PCMs to them. They say both had the tunes in it.

Add more blood letting, ends up owner did not tell Rich then some buddy had a POS Prediator canned tuner and flashed that car that was for another 2007 and car had weird error codes and dealer told him something in dash was screwed up but owner did not get that fixed.

PCMs get back from carputing, I have Rich pull fuses for Onstar and XM radio. Flashing of tune works and car starts but takes several tried befor it will idle.

Also car when driving is not very good as something is going wrong so after fucking around for 2 weeks I tell Rich to bring the car here to Oregon from Boise Id.

He drives some hours to get here and this Sat AM he shows up and time for the show.

1. The CAM grind is NOT suited for a A6 trannie nor a stock torque converter.
Causing false misfires even when trying to start engine.

2. You know it is screwed when at idle the MAP is at 60-65 KPA.

3. Had to totally turn off misfire as even the highest delay count was not enough and that was even after a CKS relearn was done.

4. 2007 GM took out the VE tables so making this work is even tougher.

5. not even knowing what head work is done other then they were milled for higher engine compression I had no way of knowing if valves were larger.

Spent 7 hours today and did 8 tweaks of tune to fix the hard startup problem, a stumble at low speeds and how A6 acted so also had to tune the TCM for A6

End result is engine fires right up, engine is real strong and A6 even shifts good ( I held my nose and even test drove the car using that kiddle paddle shifter crap :-)

Not good is the torque converter is not the right one for this CAM grind.

For 3 plus years now we have seen many vettes with LG mods, either ill designed headers, telling customers to yank smog parts out and way overpriced costs along with lousy PCM tuning so they belong in this forum section.

Here is results after all the clean up :

Here is scanner data of 3 pulls where I let A6 auto shift,
using the paddle shifter and holding RPMs per shift and fast shifts using paddle shifter.

Look at the torque values as when and when not torque was lost either due to shift times or wheel spin

JR what is the point of LG not being helpful after they f'k up someone's car? I'd be thinking that they'd be losing customers right & left.

They can care less since they hype themselves on many forums so due to volume of people they get off the forums and the forums preventing negative content of those who paid those monthly supportng vendor fees and got screwed over by those vendors they have a long list of new customers.

The fact they grind off the vendor and model on CAM shows they did not make the CAM and think somehow they are holding some secret power grind when someone smart would have the CAM measured and find what the grind values are.

In the long run sooner or later the value springs need to be changed as to use and age and car owner is fucked since he has no idea what CAM grind is or if he wanted to try another CAM he has no idea what is now in car so how does he know what different grind to use.

In any case this 2007 A6 C6 the shop owner drove the car 350 miles to get home and says after the PCM and TCM relearned the tunes of ours for both are now correct and car drives well.

Here is a good example when the wrong selection of CAM grind

Stock 2007 C6 on the bottom of these collected scanner data traps.
Notice this modified 2007 ( top data stream) mentioned in this thread how much vaccum is lost at idle and thus a domino effect to all other engine functions.
Compare the functions and their values.

Here is where mods make an effect and that is at upper engine loads.
The mods itself would be useless without a good custom tuning as you notice the modified 2007 C6 has higher timing due to the tune.
Notice the torque and horsepower flywheel levels
