This could be a good or bad thing but I was curious how many of us have 100,000 miles on our C5s. My beloved '98 White Fang has just under 105,000. How many miles can a LS1 handle. It still runs like stink although oil use is up to 1qrt/1,500. Be good to also know what parts we need to watch out for in high milage C5's. Wheel Bearing in the Midyears good bad about 85,000. I heard there was a bearing in the torque tube that can wear out. ABS, all the sensors and grounds do they need checking and cleaning etc? Hoping to prevent a side of the road dead in the water moment with some sensible PM. On person reccomended updating the Starter and Alternator then keeping a spare in the garage? What about the water pumps and oil Pump should they be updated at 100,000 or 150,000 or what? Maybe GM has some papers on these concerns.

I know of someone, but not directly, that put 200,000 on his C5! Still drives it because he knows it isn't worth anything on a trade. He is buy a C6 however...he'll prolly put that one in the garage and drive the C5 until is dies...we know it won't rust!!! <vbg>

I now have over 130,000 and 10,000 on the new 6 liter engine. I am also getting numerous little sensor failures. Water temp Right rear Air Pressure
Now the Right front ABS Solenoid???
Nickle dime stuff or more like 50-100 buck stuff.

July 4th 2008 135,000 Miles has several months down time but still pulling strong. Replaced the rear gear oil and it was gummy. Side of the road issues: 1 Fuel Pump wiring broke after three fuel level sender repairs 2 Died in route due to wiring harness fried on the headers after new Engine install 3 Dead battery when rain shorted the relay for the Oil Cooler fan and it was on all day while in a parking lot.
Note none of the failures were car alone induced, always a previous repair or human involvemen or poor workmanship (Mine).
The damn C5 is a bargan to buy, hot rod and drive, mine still gets 28 MPH in 6th gear, 1,500 RPM at 70MPH!!!
