C8 owner goes into Fremont Chevy dealer for a repair
Owner gets his C8 back but when he gets home he checks the oil level to see it dirty, so he calls dealer, and they tell him to bring it back in.
The owner set the PDR so that as the engine starts, the recording also starts.
Her get the C8 back to find the tech from dealer joyrides on busy freeway multi times up to 145 MPH ! Watch him pass cars from the slow lane on the right, or be on the far left lane and then quickly cross 5 lanes to the right and then adds to it by racing with some ricer
He should be hung just for the music he was playing
Too bad the recording is so long, but get a good idea of speeds from 4 mins in until 12 minutes elapsed
C8 owner states :
I took my car in to get the engine looked at. Someone took my car out for a joyride after they fixed the issue. This video was taken 7/31/21 at 9:21am. I didn't get the call that my car was done until midday, and I showed up at around 1pm to get my car.

Dealer wanting the video C8 owner had from the PDR killed off the internet stated they would get the C8 owner a 2022 C8 in exchange for his 2020 model So the C8 owner cuts most of the illegal driving but leaves part where racing was going on as shown now above
C8 owner reports :
The owner of the family of dealerships reached out and has offered me a brand new 2022 of equivalent price. I am shocked and need to find out more details. I’m not sure I want to wait another year for a C8 / trade my current car in now and have nothing while I wait, but I don’t know the conditions of the offer yet.
I had no idea replacing a loose spark plug would take me on this journey.
edit: I can keep my current car until the 2022 comes in. I’m really stunned and just need to go to bed.
Also states :
I took the video down because the dealership and I have worked out a deal that I’m satisfied with, and I don’t want to cause this business undue grief. I just want my **** car taken care of and they’ve more than done that. I wasn’t coerced or threatened or anything. The owner called me a few times and I was the first to suggest I’d take the videos down. All is well
I also understand that the technician has been let go. The CHP have my footage and I understand they’re looking into it.
Here a lawyer speaks as to issues when a low life asshole dealer tech screws over your vehicle

The C8 owner is no better than the dealer as he took this as far as he could profit from for one joyride of the dealer's tech in this owner now giving dealer kisses and the tech good chance he gets away with what he did and what type of techs Fremont Chevrolet in Ca hires
C8 Owner now free pro markets the dealer :
I just signed paperwork with the dealership for the exact same vehicle as my 2021 but with front lift, gt2 seats (instead of gt1) and a red engine cover. The dealer also increased the trade-in value of my current car by $3000 to cover the paint protection work I had done. We submitted the order for the 2022 together (I pushed the button!), he printed my sold order sheet out and then had his sales person print out a sales contract that we both signed.
The contract details everything about the trade, and he's deferred payments for 90 days so that I am not billed. The thinking is that he will void the contract once the car comes in and write a new one when we're ready to trade. I will continue driving my '21 in the meantime. He expects the 2022 to arrive in 6-8 weeks and will keep me updated on its status.
I've been avoiding mentioning the dealership name again to avoid more negative press, but Fremont Chevrolet (Fremont, Ca) has more than made this right.
Also, unexpectedly, my GM Platinum extended warranty plan (60 months / 75000 miles / 0 deductible) was applied to my current car this morning. Everything he's done is in writing and has not made me sign anything to silence me or coerce me into giving him positive press.
He's only asked that I reach out to folks and help repair his dealership's image, and I think he deserves that after what he's done. The owner of the family of dealerships has also personally reached out to me, apologized repeatedly, and has promised to make this right. I am 175% satisfied, if that is possible.
I actually have a call with Rick C. (why can't I write his name here, lol) later, and I'm glad that I can tell him the happy ending to this story.
Edit: I appreciate the passion from some of yall about what I am owed etc. I'm just not the kinda guy to push my luck like that. I feel blessed that the dealership is sorting this out, and I didn't have to litigate. He gets a car that he can flip easily, and I get a new car that I can baby again during the break in period. Emotions aside, this is very fair.
