GM Working on Fix for 2022 Corvette Stingrays that Underestimates the State of Battery Charge
GM says the gauges in certain 2022 Stingrays are underestimating the 12-volt battery state of charge, causing a low-charge status warning to be displayed, even though the battery is actually full. If that happens, it could result in lower fuel economy because the alternator may not enter fuel saving mode.
The issue will be fixed through an over-the-air update through the infotainment system, although owners still have the option to visit their dealer to have the body control module (BCM) reprogrammed by a GM technician.
Owners with questions about the service update can call 1-800-222-1020 and refer to GM service update number N212351870.
Earlier this year, a small recall for a small batch of 2021 and 2022 Corvettes, 22 vehicles in all, was issued to install missing half shaft bearings.
