GM has started a service update to address a problem with certain 2022 Corvette Stingray units that may cause the vehicle to display a low charge status warning, despite the battery being full.

The problem: affected 2022 Corvette Stingray models have a condition that may cause an underestimation of the 12-volt battery state of charge.

The hazards: If this occurs when the battery is sufficiently charged, the alternator may not enter fuel saving mode, negatively impacting fuel economy.

The fix: an over-the-air update will be pushed to vehicles to remedy this problem.
An over-the-air update is an internet-enabled update that can be sent to vehicles wirelessly without the need to visit a dealership.
Owners who still wish to take their vehicle in for service can also have the body control module (BCM) reprogrammed by a GM technician.
This software update will be performed at no cost to the vehicle owner.

Affected components: body control module (BCM).

Affected vehicles:
• 2022 Corvette Stingray

Number of affected vehicles: it’s unclear how many vehicles will need an OTA update or BCM software update to address this problem.

Owners should: involved vehicles will receive an over-the-air update via the OnStar system.
